Moon filters are not only useful while viewing the moon, but can be very helpful while viewing the planets. Using neutral density moon filters helps cut down the glare and allows more fine detail of the planets to be seen. They can be very useful when viewing Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. Depending on the conditions, detail on Jupiter and Mars, are very bright when they are in the best viewing positions.
