 We are proud to now be offering our Ultra lens cleaner. To date we have cleaned numerous telescopes with unbelievable results. We have tried many different kinds of solutions in the past and some have done a decent job. Some results have been horrible. In some cases the cleaners can destroy your special coatings completely.  There is quite a bit written about this topic on the web.  Some cleaners, like I said are better then others, but if you’re the type that looks and inspects the results very closely after finishing the cleaning of your lenses, this stuff is for you!  It has been tested by people who know how to test, on some of the biggest lens telescopes in the world. This solution is not just Distilled water, and alcohol to certain percents. (which is one of the many solution mixes you can find on the web today) Ultra lens cleaner is far more refined and tested.  We have cleaned all kinds of Meade, And Celestron telescope lenses, using the Ultra Lens Cleaner, with great success. Meade and Celestron, both tell you how to mix your own solution. Both companies are wrong. Their solutions can and do leave a haze or film when finished. Maybe it's good enough for the average person but for someone who knows what he is looking for, there’s a problem. Like I said, a slight film or haze left behind.

Telescope Ultra Lens Cleaner

I tested the Ultra Lens Cleaner on everything from an old $30 Tasco 900mm x 60mm refractor to a $1000 Celestron 8 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain OTA. I have cleaned camera lenses, eyepieces, primary objective telescope lenses, Schmidt & Newtonian mirrors & planetary color filters. I even cleaned my eyeglasses with the Ultra Lens Cleaner.

Using plain white non-scented Kleenex tissues & a soft camel hair brush for dusting, I applied the Ultra Lens Cleaner to several types of optical surfaces. Below are what I noticed & my opinions on the quality of the product.

The Ultra Lens Cleaner removes fingerprints & all different kinds of grease & smudge marks effortlessly. Only one application is usually needed.

The Ultra Lens Cleaner leaves the chosen optic looking like factory new, baring any pre-existing scratches. (the cleaner is not going to repair a scratched lens)

The Ultra Lens Cleaner is not harmful to optical coatings. Now allow me to elaborate here. I used the Ultra Lens Cleaner on the primary & secondary mirrors on my Celestron Celestar 8, as well as on the corrector plate. All of the optical surfaces are StarBright coated, (a Celestron proprietary light transmission optical coating) The Ultra Lens Cleaner left the optical surfaces like factory new with absolutely no streaking what so ever. It also left the StarBright optical coatings in perfect condition.

The Ultra Lens Cleaner dries very fast with no streaking. If you are going to clean a large mirror or lens you will have to do it in segments. I did the corrector plate & primary mirror on my Celestar 8 in quarters. That is how fast this stuff dries.

ABSOLUTELY NO STREAKING WHAT SO EVER!!!

I can’t stress this point enough. This single point amazed me as I have never seen any solution no matter how good, leave a surface completely streak free.
